Who are we?

Autographed by Author is the internet's largest gathering of autographing authors.

The ideas for it developed in 1999 during a book marketing discussion at Pub-Forum, a large e-mail community of small publishers and vendors. Autographed By Author continues to be managed by a self-published author.

When shoppers search the largest engines and directories for phrases like "autographed books" or "inscribed books," we often show up near the top of the listing. (See box at right)

It's not unusual for us to be in the top 10 of a search that contains millions of Web sites.

The Great Gifts site acts as a doorway to Autographed By Author because it ranks well for key-phrases containing the word "gift." (See bottom half of box at right.)

Where do we find book shoppers?

Through strategic links and  search engines. (See box at right. Yeah, we said it before, but we're really proud of it.)

Autographed By Author is newsworthy because we promise things that book shoppers want, but no bookstore can deliver:

Do we guarantee sales?

We guarantee you a fair shot at snagging shoppers.

Each author has 200 characters to describe their book in the most irresistible way possible. The better your description, the more traffic will flow to your Web site.

Will any of that traffic turn into sales? It depends on your Web site. We can't control that.

While we can't guarantee sales, we do something almost as good. After listing your title, we don't ask for a dime until we make you a dollar. 

At the end of every month, we ask participating authors to contribute 10% of our referrals' purchases. If we produce no sales, we ask for nothing.

Are there other costs?

We charge a small registration fee to set up new titles. We ask for it after viewing your Web site and book, and inviting you to join. It costs nothing to apply for membership in Autographed By Author.

If your Web site and book match our program, we'll ask you to complete the registration process by paying the $29.95 registration fee. The registration process is usually completed within two weeks from applying.

We only ask for the fee when we are ready to activate your listing. The listing is usually activated the day we receive payment.

At that time, you will be invited to view your listings and request changes to their descriptions and special offers. Usually, we charge $5 for changes, but they are free at listing.

After receiving your completed forms, we'll visit your Web site and let you know if we can send visitors to it. If so, we'll ask for a sample copy of your book.

If we can accept your title into our program, we'll invite you to complete your registration by paying the fee.

If we can't accept your title for any reason, there will be no fee.
